It's hard to write an honest song
When I know that the ones I love one day sing along
I ain't too good at metaphors
But I hate to know I hurt you when I opened up the door
So I'll keep writing poetry
And trash out all my feelings on to paper that no one will read
Cause no one needs to feel my pain or watch me bleed
One of us has gotta get free
Watch it break out in a fist fight
Or in this melody
Cause i can not hold my tongue any longer
I need something stronger
God, where are you?
In the mess I made
Where were you?
In the bed I laid
Have you left the scene?
Wherever could you be?
God where are you you you you you you you you you you you
Where are you you you you you you you
Where where where are you you you you you you you you you ya ya
You and I are both guilty
Caught me sleeping at the crossroads
Too hard to leave
Cause i can not hold my tongue any longer
I need something stronger
God, where are you?
In the mess I made
Where were you? on this bed I laid
Have you left the scene
Wherever could you be?
God where are you you you you you you you
You you you you you you you you you you you you
You you you you you you you you you you you you you
