I'm on chapter forty-five of my book
And boy oh boy
There's been some times I wanted that book to end
Some pages were heavy
Some were holy
And some I almost couldn't turn
I've seen joy, I've seen pain
Lost some folks I'll never see again
Heard a friend's story stop mid-line
Made me hold my own pages tight that night
There were days I begged the Lord, let this chapter close
Too tired to read, too tired to grow
But mercy came in the morning's light
Said, son, your story ain't done tonight
My book's still turning, Lord, I'm still learning
Every scar, every tear, they still burning
But I keep the faith, no matter the year
'Cause I know the Author still hold me near
Some pages filled with laughter loud
Some with storms I barely made it out
But when I thought my story was done
He wrote a new chapter called overcome
Now I walk with peace in my chest
Don't know the ending, but I trust the rest
'Cause the pen ain't mine, it's in God's hand
He wrote my story before time began
My book's still turning, through the fire and through the yearning
I been broke, I been down, but I'm still standing
My book ain't over, I'm still commanding
I used to fear what came next
Afraid of the pain, afraid of the loss
But now I know every page got a purpose
Even the tears, even the silence
It's all part of the Author's plan
My book's still turning, hallelujah I'm learning
Some pages hurt, but my soul keep yearning
I don't need to know how it all will end
Long as I know who holds the pen
So if you're reading your life right now
And that chapter feels too hard to face
Just remember, your book's already written
Keep turning them pages
Your story ain't done yet
