Why Me, Lord

I woke up today with breath in my chest

And that alone Lord that alone make me blessed

I looked at my wife peace in her eyes

That's a blessing some folks still prayin to find

Kids laughin loud in the room down the hall

I used to ask when now I just thank You for it all

Mama still call me Daddy still here

That's a blessing I hold real close and real dear

Why You keep pourin love on me Lord

I done tripped I done stumbled I done fell before

But You keep openin up one more door

I don't deserve it but You keep on blessin

I've been down bad broke in spirit and mind

Thought nobody saw me but You did every time

You picked me up gentle didn't shame my pain

Just let the sunlight fall right in the rain

You gave me strength when I ain't have none

Gave me courage when I tried to run

You loved me quiet You loved me true

And every good thing in my life lead back to You

But time love peace presence

The things that really matter

If You gave it to me
