Mirror Me

Reflection move first when I lift my feet,

Laugh like "dang, is this trick or treat?"

But the mirror me wink like a friend I meet.

Still smilin', still jokin', still off that vibe,

Still Mud Mouth movin' with a smooth one stride,

But the mirror me whisper "You can't hide,"

Mouth words slow like a reversed bass slide.

Mirror me, mirror me, lookin' back weirdly,

Smilin' all wrong like he hear me clearly.

Wave when I walk but he move too early,

Blink when I don't-got my whole self eerily.

Mirror me, mirror me, chillin' so cheerily,

But he stand still when my steps move nearly.

Laugh it off-maybe I'm high sincerely,

But my shadow in the glass keep followin' dearly.

Mirror me lean with a too-wide grin,

Glass breathe warm with a cold draft wind,

Shadow in the pane grow thin to skin

Then step too close like it want me in.

Sink drip flip with a backward splash,

Reflection blink fast in a camera flash,

Lights hum low with a thunder crash

And the mirror me walk when I stay dead fast.

Hand on the glass-he push back hard,

Smile too sharp like a deck of cards,

Mouth move late in a sync that's scarred

And he mouth my name like he hold my scars.

Still laughin', still grinnin', still say I'm good,

Still Mud Mouth movin' like a man should,

But the mirror me tilt like he misunderstood

And whisper "Soon..." like he knew he could.

Mirror fog rise with my breath off-beat,

But the guy in the glass breathe ice-cold heat,

Shadow crawl up from his mirrored feet-

And the lights go black when our eyes both meet.
