So you wanna be a big time bluegrass star

Are you willing to play gigs both near and far

Can you keep it to a traditional sound

Or will you have a meltdown

And we all know that the guitar has that soul

And we always let the mando hang around

But it could cause a meltdown

I've been a front range bluegrass picker for a minute

And I feel like this style of music has its limits

But even so I tap my toe and bear and grin it

Won't meltdown today, no way

How many times must I play Man of Constant Sorrow

These gigs don't pay enough I'll beg steal and borrow

Jam session's today but I'm thinking bout tomorrow
