In These Pines

Some might say you'll find God on Sunday

Or by the way it made you feel when the choir sang

And I agree that those can be true

But some folks don't have a clue

That He shows up with the morning dew

I don't want to be another fake dude putting on a smile cause I'm sitting on the front pew

I don't wanna just look the part like got a new suit so it's gonna make my heart right

I want a be a better man

That talks to God like friend

And I'm not saying I don't love his house

But when I'm sharing what's on my mind

As dawn breaks on my deer blind

Sometimes he's louder in these pines

It don't take long to find somebody that needs you

But suits can't pray and smiles fade those days

There'll be times you're gonna wanna get through

And at least God knows who He's talking to

So tell me, do you have what I've got out here
