Duḥkha—dvāraṁ karuṇā—praveśaḥ (Sorrow is the gateway to compassion)
Aśru—jalaṁ loka—śaraṇam (Tears become the refuge of the world)
Sarva—duḥkhaṁ mā vilokaya, hṛdayaṁ avṛṇaya (Do not reject suffering, open the heart)
Oṁ maṇi padme hūṁ
(Stanza 2)
Tāraṅga iva karuṇā ananta (Like waves, compassion is endless)
Sūrya iva sarvān ābhāsayati (Like the sun, it illumines all)
Mahamudrā hṛdayaṁ ananta—ākāśa (Mahamudrā is the heart as infinite space)
