Gold Medals (Commentary)

So the crazy thing about Dumb Dancing is

Believe it or not, it's also a defence mechanism I think

Because part of "playing dumb" is playing humble

And I think when you play humble, at least when I do

It's not because I don't wanna

Because I am trying to be good enough or appear good enough

But I really, I really sometimes feel uh

Like everybody doesn't want to see that so it's like let me, let me lower myself down

So we could keep everything even

So I wrote this record called "Gold Medals"

And one of the lines I said is

"They're saying that they're happy for me, but I really can't tell."

And so uh

I just feel that it kinda dives into you know, playing fake humble

To you know

Kendrick said, "The best play humble so you don't feel insecure"

So I definitely touch on that
