Autumn has arrived again and it's clear
That time keeps moving through the atmosphere
You told me you're sad and you don't know why
Just look up at the birds when they scatter and fly
Why should we go out to the city
And wait for the snow that is no more pretty
Than watching the leaves when they're on parade
Traveling the streets where our grandparents played
I live on the side of a cobblestone alley
In the city of salt and cars and an old swamp valley
There's something that moves this town to sustain
By washing the ground with the Autumn rain
Behold, a full moon that can comfort when you cry
And display all your tears on every edge of the sky
Should we take our picture so we can recall
The time we spent together in the November fall
