I like homemade I like things that I can craft

I like when my wife makes me something that does last

I like drinking out of a fresh handmade mug

I like covering myself with quilts just to snug

It's a little more effort to make it from scratch

It's a little more effort but effort made to last

Sure creation is an act of destruction

And here we go causing a little disruption

I want homemade I want it baked so fresh

I want it all cooked in a single cooking sesh

And even if it takes a little more work to do

It's worth it, it's worth it, that's what you'll see too

It's a little more effort to paint it yourself

It's a little more effort to be yourself

It's a little more effort to make it right here

It's a little more effort but it fills me up with cheer

Sure it's cheaper you go out to the store

And sure you can buy seventeen if you break one more

And sure it's easier to get it from the place

But if you will make it the making itselfs a great

There's a sad thing in our society

We only value output we only value a finished piece

But there is a moment a moment of creation

The act of making it itself is elation

And sure it might not be perfect or so fine

Sure you might make mistakes or change all the time

But growth and learning is something to do

And when you make, it when you craft it, that is what is true

It's a little more effort to build it brick by brick
