The moon, a pallid, watchful eye
In a velvet, starless sky
Casts its silver, sickly sheen
On a world asleep, unseen
Marble angels, cold and blind
Turn their faces from mankind
As the mist begins to rise
With a thousand silent sighs
This is my Moonlight Requiem
A whispered, darkly opus
For forgotten souls and shattered dreams
Beneath the night's cold focus
A melody of shadowed grace
That time cannot undo
I sing this lament to the face
Of the moon, for I am due
The ancient trees, like bony hands
Claw at fate in barren lands
Their leaves, a rustling, mournful speech
Of destinies they cannot reach
I walk a path of frosted stone
Alone, eternally alone
To keep a promise made in dread
With the unsleeping, undead
This is my Moonlight Requiem
A whispered, darkly opus
For forgotten souls and shattered dreams
Beneath the night's cold focus
A melody of shadowed grace
That time cannot undo
I sing this lament to the face
Of the moon, for I am due
There is no peace in slumber deep
No solace for the vows I keep
I drink the darkness like a wine
And make its bitter essence mine
The clock tower will never chime
For I am out of step with time
A prisoner of this pale estate
Bound to this nocturnal weight
This is my Moonlight Requiem!
A cursed and endless opus!
For every soul I can't redeem
Beneath the night's cold focus!
This melody of shadowed grace
Is all I have to hold onto!
I scream this lament to the face
Of the moon... for she knows it's true...
The dawn will never come...
The stars have grown so dumb...
I am the hymn... the dark... the hum...
Of a heart... forever... numb...
