In The Pines

No one hears me tonight

I'm too deep in the pines

I'm so sick of the light

I give up, I'm over this life

I've stopped eating, now my body's thin

So I can slip through the cracks when the world caves in

I need paradise for an eternity

Or a war big enough to kill me

"Just keep digging," that's what they said to me

As I'm coughing out my guts, knee deep in dirt

Try to claw through all the trees and hear the words they have to say

But I don't pray much anymore

I've done this once before

I see a god in the ground

I gotta dig him out

How can I bury the shame?

It's still the same

Want to be pure again

I don't see any other way
