Wrinkles

I flip the light on low, it hums above your head

Tile's cold beneath my feet, it's earlier than I said

There's a drip drip from the faucet, keeping time for me

I lean in close like you might say something

Your eyes are tired now in ways I am not used to

Lines that I don't remember earning, staring back at you

Tilt your head and squint a bit

Like changing angles helps

Like who you really are is hiding somewhere else

I breathe out on the glass

It clouds up fast

I draw what I hope I feel

A smile

But it isn't real

I can see the sunlight in your eyes
