Regardless of what anybody says, to be proud of
First of all, history
As we know it in its attempt to record past events and past happenings
History has been most unfair to the Negro people
It hasn't been until here recently
When the Negro Heritage Library was composed
That the Negro begins to become aware
Of the fact that his race also made contributions to civilization
History has been unfair to us
There have been many great black people
That have done many great and outstanding things
But we know nothing about them
One of the great black educators of all time
Who while living constantly taught
That it was the Negro's right to be equal to his white brother
But that the Negro in his efforts and
Attempts to acquire his equal rights
Would have to first qualify himself
