WHISKEY CAN'T

You'll feel the fire on the very first sip

As soon as whiskey passes your lips

We enter a world where nothing's the same

It's anesthesia that makes you numb, kills the brain and makes you dumb

You'll feel better while you're going down in flames

But it's not a level playing field

When what I'm seeing isn't real

I hear the music and know it's time to dance

I keep wanting one more shot, praying its a cure when I know its not

Some people can drink alcohol

And never seem to trip and fall

It might be genes, but nothing we can do

I'm not saying life ain't fair, we all have some cross to bear

But when whiskey's talking, you know it ain't true
