A LIFE IN MUSIC

When I grew up in Ireland, there was music everywhere

We came home from school, with singing in the air

In the evenings we would gather around, and sing along

To music from John Murphy, Dolly and Big Tom

Thanks to Country Music for what it's given me

It's brought me love and happiness, made me who I want to be

Thanks to Country Music, and I just want to say

A life in Music made me, who I am today

We started out together, as husband and wife

We went to local dance halls, and danced away the night

I got a chance to sing on stage, and my life forever changed

I knew things, would never, be the same

Country music has always been a huge part of my life

Travelling and singing, as a mother and a wife

From here around the world, to Russia and the USA

I met Presidents and Kings,made friends along the way

I'm in the autumn on my years, and looking back upon my life

I've been singing for fifty years now, I'm a granny and a wife

Country music 's with mealways, and I just want to say
