"Sansouci"
They say she still wanders
By the shores of Sansoucí,
She watches every harbor light
In case you sail back on the breeze.
The Caribbean winds keep
Pulling gently at her heart,
And the daylight slowly fades
As she waits there in the dark.
So she stays at Puerto Sansoucí,
Swearing someday you'll come back to her dreams.
The night falls quiet, and the moon agrees,
As the waves keep whispering the same old plea:
"He'll return to me... he'll return to me."
They say it was a fire
That lit the whole town in its glow,
But you were chasing waters
That she never had to show.
And in her flowing white dress
You can still taste ocean air,
From that last unfinished hug
You left hanging in the air.
So she stays at Puerto Sansoucí,
Swearing someday you'll come back to her dreams.
The breeze calls your name down the old jetty,
And she answers softly to the memory:
"He'll return to me... he'll return to me."
And the ships keep passing full of fate,
And she prays to each for just one grace:
"If you see him drifting lost and free,
Tell him I'm still here... waiting by the sea."
And she remained at Puerto Sansoucí,
Swearing that one day you'd come for her.
The night falls, the moon keeps watching there,
And through the waves she softly starts to say:
"He'll come back to me... he'll come back to me."
So she stays at Puerto Sansoucí,
Holding on to dreams that once set her free.
The years keep rolling, but she never leaves,
Like a lonely lighthouse learning to believe
That you won't come to be...
That you won't come to be.
