Glory in the Pit

Christ's love in you

Sees the ones who threw you in the pit

And still whispers

"Father, forgive them

They know not what they do."

This is His glory

Being revealed in you

They left you at the bottom

Walked away like you were done

Called it consequence and wisdom

But it cut you like a gun

You've been replaying every moment

Trying to make it make some sense—

How the ones that said they loved you

Turned their backs and jumped the fence

You were looking for an answer

For a reason, for a sign

All you found was Jesus with you

Sitting in that pit of time

But love don't leave you where you've fallen

Love steps down into the grave

And every stone they thought would crush you

Turned into a place He saves

Christ's love in you

Sees the ones who threw you down

And still whispers, "Father, forgive them now."

They don't know what they're doing

They don't see what's true

But heaven's glory's breaking

Right inside of you

So take heart, my friend

This isn't where it ends—

This is His glory in the middle of it

Yeah, this is His glory in the pit

You could've turned bitter

Could've let the poison stay

Could've built a higher prison

Just to keep out all the pain

But somewhere in the darkness

Grace rewrote the plan

You started praying for your enemies

With nail scarred hands

You said, "God, I don't feel it

But I'll say what You would say

If You could bleed for their forgiveness

Teach my heart to do the same."
