The three little pigs
Once upon a time, there were three little pigs called Percy, Paddy and Penny
Who all lived together in a cozy cottage with their mummy and daddy
One day, mummy pig said to her three little piggies
"The time has come for you three piggies to go out into the big world
You are big enough and strong enough to look after yourselves now"
So Percy, Paddy and Penny set off together into the world
They knew that they would all need a house to live in
And so that was their first job
Percy, the first little pig met a farmer carrying a huge bundle of straw
"Excuse me" said the first little pig politely
"Would you please sell me some of your straw so that I can build a house to live in?"
The man agreed, and the first little pig went off to build his house of straw
Paddy and Penny said goodbye to Percy and carried on along the road
They soon met a man carrying a huge bundle of sticks
"Excuse me" said the second little pig politely
"Would you please sell me some of your sticks so that I could build a house to live in?"
The man happily agreed and Paddy said goodbye to his sister
Penny, the third little pig didn't think much of their ideas
For building a house out of straw and sticks
"I'm going to build myself a much bigger, better, stronger house," Penny thought
And she carried on down the road until she met a man with a cart full of bricks
"'Scuse me," the third little pig said politely
"Please, can you sell me some of your bricks so that I can build a house to live in?"
"Of course" said the man
Percy, Paddy and Penny all set to work building their new homes
And by nighttime, the house of straw and the house of sticks were built
But the house of bricks was taking a little bit longer to build
The first and second little pigs laughed
They thought their sister was really silly having to work so hard
When they had already finished building their houses
A few days later, Penny finished her house made of bricks
It looked very smart with pretty windows, a neat little chimney
And a shiny knuckle on the door
One lovely evening soon after they had settled into their new homes
A big bad wolf was out looking for his dinner
He was very hungry
The wolf spied the first little pig's house made of straw
He wandered off to the house and called
"Little pig, little pig, let me come in"
Percy was cowering behind the door and in a quiet voice he whimpered
"No, no, no, not by the hair on my chilly chill chin, I won't let you in"
"Then I'll huff, and I'll puff, and I'll blow your house down"
Said the wolf who was big, bad and greedy
And he huffed, and he puffed, and he blew the house down
The little pig ran away as fast as his trotters could carry him
And he went to hide in his brother's house made of sticks
