Becoming Light

I walked so far into the silence, carrying a weight no one could see

The world kept moving without me,but something soft kept burning underneath

I thought I had forgotten how to feel, but the echo found me again

A trembling spark behind my ribs, asking not to be saved, only seen

I was a doorway left in the dark, waiting for a hand that never came

But the light I kept searching for was growing quietly inside my name

I am becoming light, not rescued, not borrowed, not broken anymore

I am becoming light, a fire I once feared, now opening every locked door

I am not running from the night, I am learning to walk through it slowly

Like a lantern waking from within, choosing glow instead of glory

This time I am not reaching outward, my hands return to my chest

And in that small unspoken moment, I finally meet myself
