Track six, "Art of Drifting." Um, I typically think about my albums in
Terms of a day. It's a journey. I want you to go from typically
Morning to, um, evening to night. And this song right here is night-
Night, like 3:00 a.m. dark. It's a song about that subtle drift that
Happens to those who are, you know, in Christian leadership. You
Know, like this isn't just—this is something that we all relate to
Because often Christian artists or leaders become these, uh, divines
In folks' eyes, where they feel like they're not experiencing life
Like everybody else. That there's nothing special about my Christian
Experience. There certainly is a lot more responsibility and
Consequence, uh, but I am like anybody else. Um, I do this a lot
When I talk to athletes, where I'm like, "I know that y'all have
Been given this understanding that you're these special people in
Society, uh, who, um, when you do little things like help somebody
Cross the street, it's like massive news. Uh, it's like, you know
Like an infant who takes that first step, uh, for when, uh, we see
Celebrities act like human beings. Uh, and I always remind my
Professional athlete brothers and sisters that, listen, when it
Comes to this, you are a regular, normal believer who is required to
Honor God, no matter how much money you have or how much access you
Have. Everything you've been given is, uh, an opportunity to serve
The kingdom." So, I digress a bit, so let me just go back. So the
Point is that these men in these Christian leadership positions, um
As these Christian rappers or Christian singers, whatever they may
Be, are just as fallen, just as broken, and many of us are drifting
Um, I can see the drift in my own life. I've observed it as I've
Lived in this industry, and I wrote a song about it. The song was
Inspired by that and also a dream that I had. I literally woke up in
Tears, and praise God, I was with my wife. I was able to just grab
Her and hold her, and, um, uh, because it was this
Uh, very vivid dream of me falling. Um, so a lot of
This, um, a lot of this, um, this song is inspired by
That and includes that story. So, "Art of Drifting."
