From where I stand, I look at the horizon
It is as if all are defined
The sky belongs above, and the rest below
Only a thin line hints at its boundaries
My body wants to move
from where I stand to the nearest I can be to the horizon
I rushed, looking in one direction
Pebbles crushed as I stride, dust covered the paths I've been
The familiar face I've seen, the warmth of the touch I've felt
the look of content on my face
Only, this was yesterday
I can hear the sound of the leaves as the wind passes through them
The coconut tree leaning towards the deep blue color of the Earth
I can almost feel my feet buried in the glimmering sand
and then be mesmerized by the waves chasing one after another
The impeccable mix of coldness on my feet and a sun-kissed face
Only, I thought this is today.
Imprints of memories in my mind
I know how it feels, I know how it sounds, I know how it looks
I love how it feels
I am looking at the horizon, wanting to go to the nearest I can be
Only, you can't reach the horizon
and anticipation is disappointing
