Daddy told me don't come home

There's lessons in this life that are best learned on your own

So I got a job everyday at dawn

Just running a chainsaw and cutting logs

And deep down I knew all along I wasn't made for no 9 to 5 I was born for writing songs

And now I sing and strum real loud hoping that the chords I play will make my daddy proud
