God Pulled Me Out the Dark

Yeah… this one's personal.

I walked through darkness…

But God pulled me out.

Let's go.

Raised in the church house, fire in my veins,

But temptation hit hard, tried to drag me in chains.

The shadows kept callin', sayin' "Come take a ride,"

And I drifted from the truth I was raised to abide.

Got caught in deception, thought the night was a friend,

But the deeper I went, man, the closer my end.

But even in the silence, God whispered my name,

And His mercy stepped in and shattered my shame.

I ain't who I was back back then,

Grace broke chains I lived in.

Every step I take again,

I hear Him say, "Come home, my friend…"

God pulled me out the dark,

Lit a fire in my heart.

What tried to break me fell apart,

I'm standin' strong — set apart.

I'm walkin' in the light again,

Free from who I used to be.

The devil tried to write my end…

But I rise —

God pulled me out the dark again.

I walked in a battlefield disguised as peace,

Where the counterfeit spirits tried to offer release.

But the moment I surrendered, the darkness lost hold,

And the purpose God gave me started shining like gold.

Now I'm movin' with authority, past in the rear-view,

Made new by the power only heaven could do.

And hell gets nervous when a child of God stands —

'Cause I know who I am and I'm walkin' in His plans.

No turning back, not now, not ever,

He kept me through every storm and weather.

And I've got a work to do forever,

What tried to break me… God made better.

I've been broken, but now I'm chosen,
