Elijah

In the days of Ahab, Jezebel reigned

Baal was worshiped, prophets were slain

Altars torn down, fear filled the land

But the word of the Lord still came

The people had forgotten His name

False gods on every hill they made

I built the altar, soaked it wet

I called His name, the fire set

Flames consumed the stone and ground

And every knee fell to the sound

In the silence of despair

The fire fell, His love was there

But after victory came the fall

One threat from Jezebel ended it all

I ran to the desert, prayed to die

Enough, Lord, please, was my cry

How can triumph feel so hollow

When fear is the shadow you follow

Seven thousand knees have not bowed down
