Run Into the Light

I ran into the light when the night got loud

When the hurt got heavy and my hope ran out

He lifted up my soul from a broken place

Now the fire on my chest is a burning grace

I was blinded by the world, couldn't see what's right

But He called my name, pulled me back to life

No matter where I go, I'm held in His sight

'Cause Jesus is the one I run into the light

I been fightin' off the shadows, tryna breathe again

Thought the bottle was a healer, turned into a friend

But the friend turned to chains, and the chains held tight

Every step felt wrong, couldn't move toward light

Then a whisper hit my chest like a wind through pines

Like a river on a mountain breakin' open my mind

I ain't know what peace was 'til He sat me down

Wiped the dust off my heart, pulled me up from the ground

I was mixin' pain with pride, tryna fake my strength

God was tryna fix my soul, but I kept my distance

But He loved me through the mess I was livin' in

Voice in my head, weight sittin' on my shoulder

Devil had plans tryna break me down

But the Lord stepped in with a mighty sound

He said, Son, you've been runnin' but I'm right here still

And His presence hit harder than the strongest thrill

You can keep your chains, I'll take His peace

I ain't ever goin' back to who I used to be

Now it's worship in my lungs when I wake each day

A testimony in my step with the words I say

I've been carried from the valley to a higher sight

Now I stand on faith now I run to the light
