Race of Life

Sometimes as I run around life's track

I feel like I've fallen so far back

And that on the turn I'll fall on my face

And sadly look up as I lose this race

There's just so many who run so fast

And I don't think I can outrun my past

So I dwell on the things I have done

And my legs feel weary on this run

I realize that in this long race

You're not concerned about my pace

I just need to take one step forward

As I put my trust in the Lord

You cheer me on as you run next to me

And whisper something so gently"It's not how you start, it's how you end

And there's nothing you've done I cannot mend"
