Buried deep in winter's sheets

The sun is shining through the trees

The birds are silenced by the freeze

Every songbird waits its chance

All the grasslands buried deep

But still the rivers run just as free

And poke through the frost, the brightest green

Join the sparrows in their song

Well the world's in a tizzy, making up for time it lost

Eager robin mothers weaving cradles out of moss

Coyote pups scamper 'cross the emerald sea of grains

While riverbound grizzlies hit that water like a train

Well the warbler's got their wish

O'er Lethbridge Valley,
