Thank you
Thank you very much
Welcome to Great Bands of the Grain Belt
This is number three in our weekly series of Sunday
Afternoon Marching MusiCals, sponsored by the 4-H Club
Here at the University of Southern North Dakota at Hoople
Now, of course, this afternoon unfortunately we had to move
Into the cafeteria here on account of the weather, so we're
Going to have to be content with just listening to the music
But that shouldn't be so bad when you've got guests like the ones
We've got today, The Turtle Mountain
Naval Base Tactical Wind Ensemble
Let me tell you, even without their fancy footwork on the
Field, this is an impressive band made up of young American
Guys and gals who are as ready to whip off a B-flat major
Scale as they are to defend North Dakota from naval attack
And today they're presenting a program of music by a composer who...
Well, who's pretty close to the hearts of some
Of us here at the U of S, ND and H, P.D.Q.
Bach
So without any further ado, let's get things off to a rousing
Start with one of P.D.Q.'s most ambitious works, The Grand Serenade
For an Awful Lot of Winds and Percussion, Cicale number 1000
