Still Small Voice

Listen to the shouting

Of the kids chasing each other on the playground

Listen to the cars

As they whizz past by on highways unconcerned

Listen to the wind

As it rustles through the leaves in the trees

Listen to the waves

As they crash on the shore with ease

Now listen past the children

And listen past the trees

Listen after trading all your wants for what you need

And as He hears your hurt

Or He hears you rejoice

The Holy Ghost will speak

So listen to that still small voice

Listen to the fire

As it crackles, it pops, and it burns

Listen to the rain

As it pours down and forms a storm

Listen to the earth

As it trembles at the power of His word

Listen to the heart

The way it desires to know the Lord

And listen past the fires

Listen after giving Him all your heart's desires

The Holy Ghost will speak

And a throbbing heart

Show you who you are

It's the Holy Ghost

Giving you His strength

It's the Heavenly Father

Giving you His love
