I kneel before the altar of your eyes again

Another sacred wound to sanctify my skin

The gospel of your touch rewrites my fevered prayer

Though every verse I've sung has led to despair

It beats a hymn of hope beneath these prison bars

I've memorized the scripture of a thousand falls
