The Nightmare

Woke up to the sound of laughter

Morning light and the day starts after

Two little voices fill the air

Everything feels calm, no weight, no care

I see them playing in the living room

Their smiles so bright, their laughter fills the room

I walk toward them, reaching out my hand

But the air is cold, nothing's as it was planned

I blink, they're gone, vanished into the night

No explanation, no reason, no light

Just an empty room where warmth used to be

And I'm left here, alone in this dream

I woke up to their laughter, I woke up to their cries

But the moment I reached out, they disappeared before my eyes

I felt their love, I felt their touch

But now it's gone, just too much

The nightmare isn't real, or is it just a lie?

I wake up again, left with nothing but goodbye

I search for them, running through the halls

Calling their names, echoing off the walls

But there's no sound, no sign of where they've gone

Just a quiet emptiness that lingers on

I can't explain it, can't make sense of the fear
