Come Back Down (Thy Will Be Done)

You ever been so close to God

You forgot you were still breathing down here

I was living on the mountain, high off grace

Didn't feel the pain, didn't see no face

In the Word all day, didn't care for food

Didn't answer calls, just me and the truth

Didn't want no party, didn't want no light

Didn't need no people, just prayed through the night

But the Spirit whispered low, Son, this ain't the end

You ain't just My worshipper, you're also My friend

I was so heavenly minded

That I lost this ground

Had to lay that fire

Where the lost are found

Yeah, I flew too high

Had to crash that cloud

Now I'm walkin' in the dirt

But I'm heaven-bound

Thy will be done I came back down

Skipped birthdays, missed laughs, called it holy

Thought fun was flesh and the world below me

Didn't see God in the fam at the table

Didn't think joy was part of His label

But He broke that pride with a silent weight

Said, You're no use if you won't relate

I cried, God, I can't feel this earth

He said, Son, I made it now know your worth

Not saved just to wait for skies to break

You got hands, got breath, got hearts to wake

I was so heavenly minded

That I lost this ground

Had to trade that silence

For a gospel sound

Yeah, I burned too bright

Til I burned right out

Now I'm rooted in the Word

With a battle shout

Thy will be done I came back down

Peter said, Let's stay on the mountain but Jesus said, Go

We don't pitch tents in the presence we carry it below

Balance ain't weakness it's wisdom and fire

I had to pray through the silence to get rewired

Let me feel the laughter, be part of the plans

Jump into moments with my boys and fam

Let me walk in spirit, but touch the street

Let me break bread with the ones I meet
