Behind the Clouds

The sky hangs low and heavy tonight

The rain falls cold and slow

Every road I walk feels worn and tired

Everywhere I go

The wind keeps whispering through my soul

Of things I used to be

And every dream I tried to hold

Feels lost inside of me

My heart holds on to yesterday

Though it fades with every breath

The light I knew feels far away

Buried under emptiness

Every hope I tried to keep

Falls like dying leaves

And I am left here in the storm

With nothing but belief

But behind the clouds, the sun still shines

Beyond the dark, there's hope I'll find

Though rain may fall and blind my eyes

Lord, Your light is still alive

And even when my faith feels gone

You hold me through the night so long

And whisper softly to my soul

You are not alone

Every life must walk through pain

Every heart must break

Every soul must stand in rain

Before the dawn can wake

And though the night feels endless now

I know this truth remains

The sun is waiting just beyond

This season of rain

You never promised endless skies
