I still hear the door closing

Like it never stopped

Like I never moved from that spot on the floor

I told myself I'd be stronger

But strength doesn't come

It just waits,

And watches me unravel

There are pieces of me scattered

In places you'll never return to

I leave them there

Like offerings you'll never see

Do you know what it feels like

To pray into nothing?

To beg the silence

Until your throat tears open?

I tear at the walls in my chest

Iooking for something alive

But everything I touch

Is already gone

I am smaller than the memory of you
