I'll never forget my first time hearing "Keep That Energy"

It was back in 2021 with my manager, DJ Money

We were at his spot in Mid-City and I just remember being super hot

I was literally in the middle of venting about how I didn't feel

Like I had any tempo on the project and how I needed more energy

I literally used the word energy

Money opened up his laptop and then looked at me and then I

Looked back at him and then we had a little staring contest

And after that, he played the song

It's almost as if he knew that the song was the answer to my problems

And he was right

As soon as I heard the sonics in the

First line, "Keep that energy to yourself"

I knew immediately where to pull from and more

Importantly that it needed to be added to the Hurt Book

And I'm so glad it did
