I Had a Pony

When I was a boy

I had a pony

I loved that pony

The best pet that I've ever known

We lived on a farm way out of town

No bus, no train

I'd ride my pony everywhere

You'd never hear me complain

He was a dappled grey with a silver mane

I was so proud he was mine

I'd polish his hooves and I'd brush his coat

I'd groom him till he would shine
