20 Year Cycle

Basically I-I feel like we're at that 20 year cycle

Moment so we're, we're back to the beginning and um

I think with the whole new generation, a lot of the promoters

And a lot of people out there was requesting for us to, to

Come together and perform together, you know what I'm saying?

Yeah, like you said, we do have our separate things going on but

There's something special about us

Playing together, you know what I mean?

And people like to see us playing together, because they gonna get

A lot of different things, a lot of different elements, a lot of um

I took some of those records home, you know, and uh

That's where I first found my first

Breaks and I'm like "Wow, this is crazy"

And they were like rock records, you know

So that got me into the whole break beats, you know

And at the same time there was this, this series

Called the "Ultimate Breaks and Beats" that came out

So that was just like a history lesson in itself

You know and that, that was the beginning

Stages of it, you know, that was like in 1985

Dewey touched on it, whereas there was different genres that you play

Which is very important and I, I want people to know like, they

Can't be scared to actually sit there and try to play this music

It's about education and it's about pushing the music forward

And we were brought up on that

Luckily, I was really fortunate to, to listen to

Mix shows back then and see all the guys play

And that's how they played

You played music, it wasn't so much about

Playing a genre of music, you know what I mean?

You, you, you wasn't scared to throw in this

Alternative record from the middle of the record

And then go to a whole other genre and make it

All work together, you know what I'm saying?

So, seeing that absolutely was an influence

In us creating and us doing what we do

And it ended up to be, you know, be that way

But not even thinking about it because it was

Already instilled in us, you know what I'm saying?

So when we did our dub

Now we have an opportunity to pass the knowledge on

Let this new generation experience what we experienced

I ain't someone, I don't, I don't care, I'll tell you

Things and how things were done and so on and so forth

Because, you know, it's, you know, it's all upon the

Person who's gonna create it and, and put it together

Everybody thinks different, we could all have the same gear

We're gonna make three different records if it's

Us three in the same room with the same equipment

It's just basically what goes on so I'm not really scared

About telling people, you know, ideas or, or how things

Were done because you're gonna do it differently, you know

Everybody wanted a dub

I'm like "No, but you're not worthy of a dub"

People work together no matter what

Even if they're in the same room, you're getting energy

From different producers and different people and friends

Whereas today, I feel everything's so separate

(Or cliquey)

Or cliquey, you know what I'm saying?

And, and I think we're all here to push music and push this forward

But I can say hands down, we were the

Only team that brought people together
