Passing along the Sea of Galilee
Jesus beheld Simon and Andrew casting a net in the sea.
And Jesus said, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
And they left their nets and obeyed their master. Follow me.
One day Jesus asked, “Who do you say I am?”
And Simon said, “You are the Christ,
The son of the living God.”
“You are blessed, Simon Bar Jonah,
And I tell you that you are Peter,
And on this rock, I will build my church,
And on these words, I will build.”
In the fourth watch, Jesus came walking on water
“It’s ghost,” they cried, “Take heart, it is I, don’t be afraid.”
“Lord, if it is you, command me to walk.”
“Come’” said the Lord, and Peter walked out on the water,
But the water fell, and Peter did shout.
“Lord, save me!” He cried, and Jesus reached out.
“Oh, you of little faith, why did you doubt?”
Chorus:
Simon, son of John, Do you love me more than these?
Yes, Lord, you know that I do. Feed my lambs.
Simon, son of John, Do you love me?
Yes, Lord, I love you, you know that I do. Tend my sheep.
Simon, son of John, Do you love me?
Lord, you know everything; you know that I do.
Feed my sheep. Follow me.
Simon behold, Satan demanded to have you,
That he might sift you apart like wheat,
But I’ve prayed for your heart, that your strength may not fail
And when you turn, your strength will prevail.
Lord, I’m ready to go with you to prison and even to death
Peter, I tell you, before the cock crows, you will deny me three times.
And he denied what he knew though he’d always been true,
He said that they all were mistaken.
And the rooster crowded, and Peter wept bitterly.
“Have you any fish?” called a man from the shore.
“Cast your net to the right, and you could catch more.”
“It’s the Lord,” I told Peter, and he dove for the shore.
And when we got there, we ate fish and learned more.
By the sea He appeared, arisen, He appeared,
And turned to Simon Peter and said:
Simon, son of John, Do you love me more than these?
Yes, Lord, you know that I do. Feed my lambs.
Simon, son of John, Do you love me?
Yes, Lord, I love you, you know that I do. Tend my sheep.
Simon, son of John, Do you love me?
Lord, you know everything; you know that I do.
Feed my sheep. Follow me. Follow me.
Now I am the disciple that Jesus loved, and I witnessed these words to be true.
Follow me.
In Solomon’s Portico they gathered to preach,
And the sick lined the street, catch a glimpse, hear a word
That as Peter walked by, his shadow might fall
And we might be mended and cured
And the sick and the injured were
