Feeling Blue (Track by Track)

Feeling Blue is a song that really came to life in June 2023

I was on a break in Ericeira, Portugal, and

Biarritz in the Southwest coast of France -

You're going to have to look that up after -

But this song, the opening line says it all, ah

"I'm not convinced in all the ways I've been living now"

Have to shout out that I was on tour with Jack Johnson

Doing some support shows in 2023 through Europe

And, I called up my dad and you know

He was asking how I was going and, nothing to do with tour

But how I was feeling inside I was like

I'm just not convinced on all the ways I'm living

And, this song is such a great juxtaposition because

The audio and the key of the song and the performance is all

This very bubbly, happy kind of sentiment

And if you listen to the lyrics, like it's kind of dark, um

Or at least very reflective and I just love

Being able to play with those balance of opposites though

And kind of present this song to someone else

They might just hum it and not know just how deep it is

But then once you can read the lyrics or perhaps listen

To this um track by track, you get to know I guess

Some of my artist feelings behind it but

As always, I think the way to move through these emotions is

You have to make them conscious and you have to

Write them down and admit them to yourself

And that's where music is like a beautiful therapy

Because just by writing it down, you can almost

Write your way out of your troubles and see

Where you need to change, and, that's the origins of Feeling Blue
