Someone made a comment in a casual place
Didn't think twice, didn't see my face
Didn't know the weight behind their words
Didn't know I might've been hurt
He was someone I once looked up to
A mentor with a front row pew
But that one line tore the veil away
And he lost my respect that day
Not here to drag the Church through mud
But I've seen a lot of scars beneath the blood
Some preach loud, but their love runs thin
But there's still some tryin' to live like Him
We ain't all like that,
Some of us still got your back
Ain't here to point and turn our backs
We just wanna show you where grace is at
We ain't perfect and don't claim to be
But we walk with the broken and we wash feet
You've been burned, I can understand that
But give us a shot — we ain't all like that
I've seen wolves in Sunday clothes
Throwin' stones, stepping on toes
But I've also watched the quiet kind
Hold a hand when the world's gone blind
They don't preach for praise or fame
They just love in Jesus' name
So you don't have to give up on it all
Just because of someone else's flaws
Yeah, I've been burned and felt that fire
But I've seen mercy lift me higher
I still believe that Jesus saves
When the church preached love
But just showed hate
We ain't all like that,
Some of us still got your back
Ain't here to point and turn our backs
We just wanna show you where grace is at
We ain't perfect and don't claim to be
But we walk with the broken and we wash feet
You've been burned, I can understand that
But give us a shot — we ain't all like that
I know church hurt is real
But so is the kind of love that heals
Don't walk away from Jesus
Just because someone forgot how to walk like Him
I've seen pulpits full of pride
And saints that just wanna hide
Where the sermons cut, but hearts don't bend
Where the wounds get deeper than the "Amen"
So don't judge the truth by the ones who fake it
Don't lose the faith 'cause somebody breaks it
There's still light in the cracks and flaws
Still a God who works beyond the walls
We ain't all like that,
Some of us still got your back
Ain't here to point and turn our backs
We just wanna show you where grace is at
We ain't perfect and don't claim to be
But we walk with the broken and we wash feet
You've been burned, I can understand that
But give us a shot — we ain't all like that
There's still good churches out there trying to make a difference
And there's still room at God's table
Even for the ones who've been pushed away
Especially for you
