Got up this mornin rolled outta my bed

Put all my clothes in a bag my bandana on my head

Pulled my old boots on

Slipped out the back door

I got a long hike ahead of me down east 44

I'm heading back to the River

I'm goin back to my woods

To a place with a little bit of piece of mind

Back home on the River

Where these city lights don't shine

Ain't a thing to do but pass the time

Break out my homegrown and some ten pound line

Take a break with ol red man and some sweet moonshine

Walk a trail as far as you can with no sidewalk around

Never step a foot off your own ground
