Raven

I saw a raven flying overhead

It crossed the yard and landed on the shed

And as it cawed, couldn't help but wonder what it said

Was it a raven or an omen from the dead?

I didn't know

I saw a wolf just walking in the street

The world was empty, it was just him and me

As he stopped and turned his head around to see

I was stuck there staring at my feet

I was scared

Unprepared

He didn't care

I had a friend who used to throw his life away

He'd sit around and drink his heart out 'til he fainted

I always hoped he'd turn around and find a way

But I found out that he died the other day

He was scared

Unprepared

Nobody cared

I don't believe in what I cannot perceive

But I saw that raven flying over me

And the wolf is standing naked in the street
