Cold Whispers

Hairs standing on the back of my neck

Creep around the corner

What's in there?

Try to catch that fly on the wall

I think I hear them call

Nothing there

Only the darkness knows what it sees

But nobody listens and no one believes

Cradling my feeble mind

I feel like I'm dreaming

But I'm still awake

Somebody's watching

I start to shake

Paranoia in the night

The cold whispers make me numb

I need to know where they come from

Fear in my lungs, striking me dumb

Until I see the reds of my gums

Go away

I can't get any sleep

Am I pray

For the shadows that sneak

Under my skin

I feel them crawling once again

Click, clack down the hall

This is where I fall

No closure

Every time I think to check

They run away, leaving me wreck

No fun, no fun

Where do they come from

Where do they hide

Waiting and watching

With many eyes

Dancing over my body

Creatures of darkness

Or people of light

What's in the music

What's in my mind

I can't find a way to escape
