My Broken Wings

Even though the moon appears at night

I never saw it smile at me

Sometimes the sun will keep me warm inside

And then it's swallowed by the sea

And when the stars come out to shine

I hear a choir of angels sing

But when the loudest thunders roar

I hide beneath my broken wings

Heavy clouds hover above my head

Am I the only one to see

Grasses whisper words of tenderness

Am I the only one to hear

And when the wind brushes my face

I feel the light illuminate

And when the rain pours down with pain

I know you'll be my saving grace

I know that time will never wait for me

And I'll decay eventually

And when the earth inhales my emptiness

My broken wings will finally heal
