Let's begin somewhere in the middle

As I find the right words it won't be a riddle

But I have a few things I gotta get off my chest

No names will be mentioned in this text

I'm not being petty

I have to make sure that I'm ready

As I release this tension that's been building

On my shoulders and breaking my mind

My mental health has been a struggle

But now it's time to release

I pray that you can release

I kept my word always there for you

And when you needed me I flew the extra mile for you

Never questioned never doubted

Always motivated you

But what I needed the same it was so hard to do

You said I could tell you anything

But when the time came it was taken is so personally

When it wasn't about you

All I need was you to listen to me to help me

To help me see me through

And wonder why I acted so cold

Because I wear my heart on my sleeve

This shit got so old when I say how I felt

You got so bold and told me I'm being so insensitive

As we start to unfold

With the weight of the world on my shoulders

It got heavier day by day

Eggshells I would walk on

But now I'm all alone just trying to release

I pray that you can release

It's just how things are

Receiving a message that it's unhealthy for you

As I contemplate how we got here

When my mental wellbeing took a beating

My mental health truly wasn't important

Unless it benefited you in some way

Turning my words around on me to make me feel guilty
