Painting my own picture, no template sheet
Brush in my hand, rhythm in my feet
I don't copy dreams from a trending page
I mix my blues with a little rage
Then soften it with a warm gold tone
That's my life custom, home-grown
I paint my own picture, frame it myself
No museum needed, no label shelf
If it's messy, it's honest, that's the twist
I'm the artist and the art can't miss
I shade my failures, highlight my growth
Add little details only I know
A coffee ring, a tear stain, a laugh line
All of it belongs in the design
People critique from far away
But they don't hold the brush, so what they say?
Sometimes I doubt my color choice
But doubt is just a nervous voice
I step back, breathe, adjust the hue
And remember: it's mine to do
Painting my own picture, stroke by stroke
Turning old hurt into a new joke
If you don't like it, that's okay
I'm not making art for everybody anyway
This canvas holds my quiet truth
And I'm proud of the way it grew
I paint my own picture, frame it myself
No museum needed, no label shelf
If it's messy, it's honest, that's the twist
I'm the artist and the art can't miss
Look at that.
