For the sake of clarity, and understanding these various TENSORS...
Minkowski-Spacetime is a model without gravity, involving a light-cone diagram with a time-axis, which describes the effects of relative-velocities, such as time-dilation AND red-shifting caused by relative-motion, ALL of which is part of special relativity, therefore SPECIAL relativity is our guide to Minkowski spacetime, or rather, Minkowski Spacetime is our guide to SPECIAL relativity.
Whereas GENERAL relativity uses the notion of curved-spacetime to describe the effects of gravity, such as the bending of light, gravitational red-shifting, and GRAVITATIONAL time-dilation.
General relativity involves concepts like geodesics, and "world-lines", which are typically CURVED-lines, due to spacetime curvature, and represent an objects destined path, given it is under no influence from any non-gravitational forces.
Special Relativity involves world-lines that are STRAIGHT for objects in uniform motion, and world-lines that CURVE... or "are curved"... when... or "where"... the object in question accelerates.
