Daddy Bear hid behind a huge old oak tree
Whilst Mummy Bear crouched down behind a stone wall
Goldilocks didn't notice the three bears as she walked past
It wasn't because two of them were simply amazing at hiding
They could have been jumping up and down in front of her
And she still wouldn't have noticed them
Baby Bear noticed Goldilocks, and thought about asking
If she would like to join in their game
But he couldn't attract her attention
For Goldilocks was on a mission to find cake
Goldilocks walked a little further, and then
She remembered that she hadn't had any breakfast
Her tummy was rumbling, she was starving
She couldn't wait to get back home to eat
"I must eat now," she ordered, and as if by magic
She saw smoke rising from the chimney of a nearby cottage
"Oh, there's bound to be some food in that small cottage over there," she said
She began to walk towards it, wondering what food she could eat
"Birthday cake would be the best," she muttered to herself
"Or maybe fish fingers or jam sandwiches, meatballs, cheese
Custard or sausages, all in one big bowl
Oh, that would be yummy," and because she was thinking of food
She made herself even hungrier
The door to the cottage was open and Goldilocks did not knock to see if she could enter
Instead, she just walked straight in
Now, inside, she spied the stove which was still warm
And on the wooden kitchen table she saw three bowls
All different sizes, with steam rising from them
"Ooh, maybe it's hot sausages swimming in custard," she said to herself
But she was disappointed
She went over to have a look, "Oh, porridge"
Goldilocks screamed, for she didn't like porridge
But she was so hungry, and when people are hungry
They can eat things that they normally wouldn't want to eat
"Biggest is best" said Goldilocks as she stood by the biggest bowl
She grabbed a spoon, dunked it in
Pulled out a massive dollop of porridge and stuck it firmly in her mouth
"Ooh," she cried, "This one is far too hot"
